Thessaloniki, 29th June to 1st July 2023

Martin Warner has been invited to run this intensive 21 Hour experiential workshop in Thessaloniki between 29th of June to 1st July 2023

Alexander’s work is normally considered to be something to do with sitting ‘properly’ or standing up ‘straight’. It may come as a surprise that Alexander wrote four content rich books expounding the conceptual foundations underpinning his discoveries and creations. He believed that the principles contained within his work would enable mankind to make the next evolutionary step towards an expansion of consciousness.

There is a causal relationship between how we think and how we move. In simple terms our so called physical plane movement behaviours are inextricably bound up with the way we think, in fact they are direct expressions of our thinking. F.M. Alexander used the term “thinking” in a way that encompasses the brain activity underlying decisions – even when the decisions are made at a non-verbal and subcortical level.

Our deeply held convictions and beliefs – often unspoken and possibly unrecognised ways of interacting with the world around us – are danced in our physical body. That is: our deeply held mental and emotional restrictions show up on a so-called physical plane as unhelpful, unreasoned and unnecessary muscular contractions. In turn the way that we think is often being driven from some kind of self image.

Through the Work of F.M. Alexander we will be looking at in depth how as humans, WHO WE THINK WE ARE NOW is constantly being interfered with by impositions that we are making driven from our past. We may have had long periods of successful self-development but our movement behaviours from a previous time in our life’s history are still being imposed on our present as an interference. As such we are not truly self expressed, or free, and this presentation will create a dissonance when we are with others, patients or clients.
